• Committees & Task Forces

  • The Assiniboia Chamber operates with sub-committees that meet regularly to provide input and support Chamber operations in the area of advocacy, programs, events and more. These committees and task forces support the Board and operations to implement the various activities of the Chamber.

  • Advocacy & Development Committee

    The Advocacy & Development Committee stays informed of local, provincial, and federal issues affecting the business community of the Chamber. They create a line of communication for businesses to address governmental issues, establish direct communication with officials, monitor legislation and council meetings, and organize events with government representatives.

    Communications Committee

    The Communications Committee, in close cooperation with Chamber staff, is responsible for reviewing press releases, advertisements, and other such marketing duties that publicize the Chamber and its accomplishments among current and potential members.

    Finance Committee ACC Standing Committee

    The Finance Committee provides financial oversight for the Chamber to include budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting and creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies.

    Membership Commitee

    The MemberShip Commitee oversees the Ambassador Committee, which hosts events and promotes the Chamber to potential members. They develop guidelines, communicate the Chamber's mission, facilitate networking, and conduct an annual Membership Drive. They also support new members, gather feedback from non-renewing businesses, review membership structure, and recruit Ambassadors.

    Nominating Committee ACC Standing Committee

    The Nominating Committee have a leadership role related to board effectiveness and governance. Their duties extend to board succession planning, including recruiting and recommending board directors.

    The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce acknowledges that we gather on Treaty One Territory, traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininewak, and Dakota Oyate peoples, and the national homeland of the Red River Métis. We recognize the presence of the Denesuline, Anisininewuk, and Inuit nations in our community. Our drinking water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation in Treaty Three Territory, and our energy comes from Treaty Five Territory in Northern Manitoba.
